Queensland Pathways State College (QPSC) was established in 2018 and has emerged as a specialised state high school that caters to a growing number of students facing significant challenges in mainstream senior secondary education. Following a successful two-year trial from 2016 to 2017, the then Education Minister officially approved the set up of QPSC, enriching the diversity of the state schooling system.
The college began with six campuses located in Bundamba, Bracken Ridge, Coorparoo, Goodna, Mount Gravatt, and Townsville, under the leadership of founding principal Kristie de Brenni. QPSC works on a hub-and-spoke model, where all students enrol in one school regardless of location, enabling a wider knowledge and skill base among teaching staff, and making the presence of experts possible across the state. This model also enhances support services to address the complex needs of our students.
In 2024, QPSC started a rapid expansion program, opening new campuses in Toowoomba and Moreton Bay, with another set to open in Mt Isa in 2025. More campuses are planned for the Cairns region, Central Queensland and Logan, further expanding the school's reach and impact.
