At Queensland Pathways State College (QPSC), health and wellbeing is a cornerstone of our strategic direction, alongside educational achievement and building successful transition pathways. As a state high school supporting young people aged 15-18 who face significant barriers to mainstream education—such as anxiety, depression, disengagement, trauma, homelessness, or medical conditions—we adopt a whole-school model that is proactive, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and solution-focused. This approach recognises the adverse childhood experiences many of our students have faced while emphasising student agency, self-determination, and ownership of their health and wellbeing journeys.
At QPSC, we are strongly committed to fostering belonging and engagement, in clear alignment with the Department of Education’s Brighter Futures education strategy’s position that “welcoming every student and supporting their unique needs creates a positive culture that promotes a sense of belonging, wellbeing and safety to support their engagement in learning” (Queensland Department of Education, 2025).
